(Reuters) – The United Auto Employees on Monday stated it’s in search of an election to characterize employees at a Normal Motors/LG Vitality battery cell three way partnership in Ohio after the businesses refused to acknowledge the union.
The UAW stated it had filed a petition with the Nationwide Labor Relations Board on behalf of roughly 900 employees at Ultium Cells after a majority of employees had signed playing cards authorizing the union to characterize them.
“By refusing to acknowledge their majority will, Ultium – which is a three way partnership between Normal Motors (NYSE:) and LG Vitality Resolution – has determined to disregard democracy and delay the popularity course of,” UAW President Ray Curry stated in a press release.
