vedanta: Vedanta Q1 Replace: Alumina manufacturing jumps 36% YoY to 539 kt, mined steel up 2%

Steel main Vedanta reported a 36% year-on-year bounce in alumina manufacturing at Lanjigarh refinery at 539 kt pushed by new capability, the corporate stated right now in a submitting to the exchanges. In Q1FY24, the corporate had produced 395 kt. It was up by 11% on the quarter-on-quarter foundation versus 484 kt within the March quarter.

The solid steel aluminum manufacturing at its smelters was reported at 596 kt, up 3% YoY on account of higher operational efficiency. The steel manufacturing was flat on the QoQ foundation.

Its mined steel manufacturing within the first quarter stood at 263 kt, up 2% YoY with improved mined steel grades. In keeping with mine preparation actions being carried out yearly in first quarter, it was decrease by 12% QoQ, the corporate submitting stated.

Refined steel manufacturing stood at 262 kt, up 1% YoY and down 4% QoQ because of plant availability & pyro operations on lead mode for later a part of 1QFY25. Refined zinc manufacturing was reported at 211 kt, up 1% YoY and down 4% QoQ.

Refined lead manufacturing was at 51 kt in Q1, up 2% YoY and down 3% QoQ in the meantime, saleable silver manufacturing was at 167 tonnes, down 7% YoY and 12% QoQ. In zinc’s worldwide enterprise, the mined steel manufacturing was down 45% to 38 kt in Q1FY25 versus 68 kt in Q1FY24.
