The album, New Daybreak might be launched on Feb. 14
A 100-year-old musician will launch his first solo music venture on Feb. 14. Marshall Allen, the chief of the legendary group Solar Ra Arkestra, has just lately introduced plans for his first solo album, New Daybreak. The second single, which can also be the title observe, has already been launched and options singer Neneh Cherry with an accompanying video.

The album on Mexican Summer season/Week-Finish Data was produced with fellow Arkestra member Knoel Scott and producer Jan Lankisch and included musicians Michael Ray and Cecil Brooks (trumpet), Jamaaladeen Tacuma (bass), Bruce Edwards (guitar), and George Grey (drums). The venture was recorded in Philadelphia in Might. Lankisch did the album in collaboration with Scott, a lifelong pal of Allen’s.
“Knoel’s power grew to become the driving drive behind the venture,” Lankisch stated. “He knew Marshall higher than anybody, and his deep understanding of Marshall’s compositions guided the choice of materials for the album.”
The 2 producers had a set of unrecorded materials to select from when choosing tracks for Allen, who turns 101 in Might.
They began recording the album simply two days after he turned a century outdated. This album showcases a brand new chapter for Allen, “a love letter to spacetime that channels a century of musical transience and transcendence into seven outer-dimensional tracks.”
Lankisch says, “Now we have created a document that showcases Marshall Allen’s musical versatility, together with a surprisingly calmer facet we might not have heard earlier than.”
