Dr Dirk Schumacher at the moment takes over the position of Chief Economist at KfW Group.
KfW is likely one of the world’s main promotional banks. On behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany and its constituent states, it funds initiatives and investments that assist financial, social and environmental residing situations throughout the globe.
KfW CEO Stefan Wintels praised Schumacher’s appointment, noting his expertise within the context of the German and wider European economic system.

Schumacher’s profession consists of roles at Commerzbank, Goldman Sachs, and most not too long ago, Natixis, the place he led the European Macro Analysis Staff. He’ll take over the Economics Division at KfW Analysis, succeeding Dr Fritzi Köhler-Geib, who left the financial institution in November 2024.
